While inspecting the old woman’s luggage, the officer noticed something strange on the scanner and ordered the suitcase to be opened: what they found inside shocked everyone. 😲😨
The grandmother looked tired but kind-hearted. At passport control, she quietly told them that she was flying to her grandchildren for the winter — they hadn’t seen each other in a long time, she missed them, so she decided to visit. After the documents were checked, she calmly rolled her old grey suitcase toward the inspection belt.

The security officer, a young man in uniform, carefully watched the scanner screen. He yawned, letting suitcase after suitcase through, until he saw a strange image on the monitor: inside one of them there was something odd.
— Wait… — he muttered, peering closer. — What’s that in there?..
He raised his head, and his gaze stopped on the elderly woman in a headscarf, to whom that strange suitcase belonged.
— Ma’am, what are you carrying?
— Nothing special, — she answered softly. — Just gifts for my grandchildren.
— Ma’am, — the officer frowned, — I can see that you’re lying. What’s inside?
The woman lowered her eyes. Her hands began to tremble noticeably. She was afraid of something.
— There’s nothing in there… I already told you.
— Then I’ll have to open the suitcase, — the officer said firmly.
— You have no right! I won’t tell you the code to the suitcase — she exclaimed.
But it was already too late. The officer took out a pair of pliers, the lock clicked, the suitcase opened — and everyone around froze.
Inside the suitcase there were… 😱😲 Continued in the first comment 👇👇

Inside sat three live chickens. Next to them, a handful of grain had been scattered and an old rag, with which the grandmother had apparently covered them on the journey. One chicken clucked quietly, another tried to get out.
— These are… live chickens, — the officer said, stunned.
— Yes, — the grandmother answered calmly. — I did tell you I was carrying gifts for my grandchildren.
— Ma’am, you know that transporting animals without documents is prohibited!
The grandmother sighed heavily:
— I just wanted my grandchildren to eat fresh soup. Everything is expensive there, and I raised these chickens myself, they’re good, home-raised…
The officer didn’t know what to answer. He looked at his colleague — who merely shrugged. After a short consultation, the head of the service decided that the chickens should be handed over to the airport’s veterinary service, and that a report should be drawn up on the grandmother.
When the officers carefully took the birds out of the suitcase, the old woman was crying.
— Forgive me, I didn’t mean any harm…
The officer replied gently:
— We understand, ma’am. But the rules are the same for everyone.

The chickens were placed in quarantine, and later a local farm agreed to take them in. As for the grandmother, she was allowed to fly, but without her “gift.”
Just before departure, she quietly said to the officer:
— Tell them not to forget — these chickens are mine.
The young man smiled, for the first time that day, and answered:
— I promise, ma’am. They’ll be in good hands.
