A 13-year-old girl saved a drowning dog from the river, or rather, she thought she was saving an ordinary dog. But a few hours after the rescue, something happened that left the girl in complete horror 😨
That day, a 13-year-old girl was walking with friends near the river not far from her home. They often came here after school, because nearby there was a small forest, an old wooden bridge, and many places where one could sit by the water.
At some point, the girl accidentally noticed something gray in the middle of the water.

At first she decided it was a large piece of wood carried by the current. But a few seconds later, the gray figure turned a little, and the girl saw the head of an animal.
— There’s a dog there! she shouted to her friends.
The animal was quite far from the shore. Practically only its head was visible above the water. The eyes of the huge gray dog were closed, the wet fur stuck to its muzzle, and it itself almost did not move.
It was clear that the animal was completely exhausted.
Sometimes its head went under the water, then appeared on the surface again. Each time the dog held on worse and worse. The girl immediately understood that there was no time to wait.
She ran to the very edge of the shore, but was afraid to enter the river. In this place it was quite deep, and the current in the middle became much stronger.
Then the girl began to look for something long and noticed a large dry branch under a tree.
She grabbed it with both hands, lay almost on her stomach on the grass, and stretched the stick as far as possible over the water.
— Come on, grab it! she shouted to the dog.
But the animal did not react. Its eyes remained closed. The girl several times carefully touched the animal’s muzzle with the stick. Finally the animal came to a little and tried to grab the branch with its front paws.
The girl pulled.
She immediately understood how heavy this dog was. The branch slipped in the wet paws of the animal, the current pulled it back, and the girl tried with all her might not to let go of the stick.
Her friends grabbed her clothes so that she herself would not accidentally fall into the water.
Several times it seemed that nothing would work. But gradually the animal ended up closer to the shore.
When there was very little left to dry land, one of the friends found a second branch, and together they managed to pull the dog to the shallow water.
The girl grabbed it by the wet fur near its neck, her friends helped, and finally the huge animal ended up on the grass.
For a few seconds everyone simply looked at it.
The dog was much bigger than it had seemed at first. Its thick fur was gray with dark spots, its paws seemed unusually large, and its muzzle was long and somehow strange.
The girl decided that it was simply a very large stray dog.
She did not want to leave it near the river.
Not far from the girl’s house there was an old shed, where the family stored hay and various tools. Together with her friends, they carried the animal there with enormous difficulty and laid it on dry hay.
The dog still almost did not move. The girl covered it with an old blanket and ran home for water and food.
A few minutes later she returned alone. In one hand she had a bowl of water, and in the other — pieces of meat.
The girl approached the shed and opened the door. And immediately stopped. The animal was no longer lying down. It was standing in the middle of the shed.
The wet fur had dried a little and now stuck out around the huge body. The head was lowered, and two bright yellow eyes looked attentively straight at the girl.
She saw it fully standing for the first time and felt a chill run down her back.

He saw the animal through the open door and immediately ordered his daughter not to move.
— It’s not a dog.
The girl at first did not even understand his words. The father slowly came closer and covered his daughter with himself. Before them stood an adult gray wolf.
It turned out that the current had brought it from the forest part of the river. Probably the wolf was trying to cross to the other shore, but got into a strong current, hit the rocks, and almost drowned.
The girl, without realizing it, had pulled a wild predator out of the water, and then, together with her friends, had brought it right to her home.
But the strangest thing happened next. The wolf did not attack.
It looked at the father, then again at the girl, and slowly approached the bowl that she had put on the ground out of fear. The animal drank all the water, ate the meat, and again looked at the girl.
The father called specialists in wild animals, but while they were coming, the wolf suddenly came out of the shed.
Everyone was afraid to approach it. It reached the edge of the yard, stopped, and for a few seconds turned its head toward the girl.
And then it calmly went off into the forest.
