A fox led hunters to a deep pit in the middle of a vast, empty field: what the guards saw when they looked into the pit shocked them 😱😱
Two experienced hunters were slowly walking through the winter forest, stepping carefully so that the snow would not crunch.

It was an unlucky day — there were almost no tracks, and no prey at all. Tired and frustrated, they were already about to turn back to their vehicle when suddenly a red shape flashed right in front of them.
— A fox! — one of them shouted, raising his rifle. A shot rang out, but it missed. The fox darted to the side, and the hunters, forgetting everything else, ran after it.
For several minutes they followed its trail until they suddenly noticed that the forest had ended. In front of them opened a vast, empty white field. And in the very center, like a black mouth, there was a deep pit.
The fox stopped at the edge and turned back. It looked as if it was waiting.
— What the hell is this? — the other hunter muttered.

They carefully moved closer, and one of them cautiously stepped onto the snow and looked down into the pit.
— My God… — he whispered. — There…
— People!
At the bottom of the pit there was an overturned snowmobile sled and three people — two men and one woman. They were waving their arms and calling for help.
It seemed that the tourists had fallen into this sinkhole earlier that morning and had been unable to get out ever since.
— They’re alive… they’re alive! — one hunter shouted and immediately grabbed his radio.
Meanwhile, the fox was still standing at the edge of the pit, nervously moving its ears, as if it fully understood what was happening.

Half an hour later, rescuers arrived. Using ropes, they climbed down and pulled the victims out one by one. It turned out that the tourists were severely hypothermic, but miraculously still alive.
When the last person was brought up, the hunters looked around — the fox was already gone. Only its paw prints led back toward the forest.
— It… saved them — one of the hunters said quietly.
The other nodded:
— And we were chasing it.
