After the death of the young queen, the entire palace fell into mourning, and her body adorned with golden jewelry was left in the temple until dawn under the protection of the kingdom’s best warriors… but when the priests opened the temple doors in the morning, a true horror awaited them inside 😨

What happened that night in the temple remains a mystery 😳

After the death of the young queen, the entire vast palace fell into deep mourning. The enormous corridors where music and laughter had echoed just the day before were now swallowed by heavy silence. Servants moved almost silently, people avoided looking into each other’s eyes, and hundreds of torches burned along the walls, filling the palace with the smell of oil and smoke.

The inhabitants of the kingdom believed that the soul of a ruler does not leave the world of the living immediately after death. According to ancient tradition, the queen’s body had to be left for one night in the sacred temple so that the gods could decide her fate in the afterlife. Until dawn, no one had the right to disturb the peace of the deceased.

The young queen was dressed in luxurious red garments decorated with gold and pearls. A heavy crown was placed on her head, and on her neck the ancient dynasty necklace that had been passed down for generations. Her face looked calm, as if she had simply fallen asleep.

Late in the evening, the body was carried into the main temple of the palace.

It was a huge stone hall with tall columns, statues of gods, and a long chamber that disappeared into darkness.

Along the walls stood the kingdom’s finest warriors.

Tall, armed men in golden armor stood motionless by the columns with spears and swords. Even the enemies of the state feared these men, because each of them had been personally chosen to protect the palace rulers.

Before closing the doors, the high priest looked once more at the warriors and said slowly:

— Whatever you may hear tonight, the doors must not be opened.

The heavy stone doors closed, and the temple was plunged into complete darkness and silence.

Later, some servants swore that they heard strange sounds coming from inside during the night. But no one dared to enter.

When morning came, priests, servants, palace guards, and the ruler himself gathered near the temple. The high priest ordered the doors to be opened for the final farewell ritual.

But within seconds, the temple was filled with screams of horror. Inside, they were met by… 😳 The continuation of this story can be found in the first comment 👇

The queen was still lying in the center of the hall with closed eyes and a calm face. Her golden jewelry shimmered in the torchlight as if nothing had happened during the night.

But all the warriors who remained to guard the temple were no longer alive.

Some lay near the columns, others right by the doors with weapons still in their hands. There were no wounds, no blood, no signs of struggle on their bodies. It seemed as if death had come for them all at once.

Immediately, whispers of a curse spread through the palace.

Some were convinced that the gods had taken the guards along with the queen so she would not be alone in the afterlife. Others said that the priests had deliberately doomed the warriors to death for an ancient secret ritual.

But years later, completely different theories emerged.

Some scientists suggested that on that night the sealed temple simply ran out of oxygen. The vast hall had almost no ventilation, the torches burned until morning, and the heavy doors were tightly sealed. It is possible the warriors did not even realize they were suffocating.

Only one detail still frightens people the most.

Why did none of the armed men even try to open the doors and escape?

And what exactly happened inside the temple that night will never be known.

All events in this story are not historical facts. They are purely the result of imagination and artistic fiction.
