A young woman kept a huge python at home: one day the snake began to behave strangely, it stopped eating and started wrapping itself around its owner’s waist, and then the girl discovered something horrifying about it 😱😱
The girl kept a python named Safran at home — named for the sun-like yellow spots on its scales. The yellow python appeared in her life three years ago and quickly became “domestic.” Her relatives frowned: “Be careful, it’s a predator.” But the girl only smiled: “She is tame. She loves me and would never harm me.”

However, after some time, the snake began to behave strangely.
The first worrying signs were almost unnoticeable. Safran stopped eating. At night, she would crawl out of her terrarium and stretch along the girl’s body — her head near the shoulder, her tail near the ankles. Sometimes she would loosely wrap around her waist and freeze, as if counting her ribs.
During the day, she would choose the cool floor near the bed, right where the girl walked barefoot, and lie there for hours, barely moving the tip of her tail, her gaze fixed exactly where a human’s chest rises and falls.
There were also gentle “embraces”: the snake would crawl up to her neck and linger under her collarbone, touching the skin with her forked tongue. The girl joked that it was a kiss. But at night, she began waking up more and more often — from the weight on her chest.
And when one night she woke up to the snake’s sudden hissing, the girl realized she needed to see a veterinarian. And that was when she learned something horrifying about the snake, after which she finally understood how dangerous it is to keep a wild animal at home 😨😱 Continued in the first comment 👇👇

The doctor slowly weighed the python, performed a palpation, and listened to the stories about the nightly “cuddling” and refusal to eat.
“You see,” he finally said, “this is not affection. In large pythons, fasting and stretching along the owner’s body is a typical behavior before attempting to swallow large prey. The snake is measuring whether the size fits. The wrapping is rehearsal for suffocation. You have an adult, strong female. She is capable of cutting off breathing. Rarely, but such cases do happen. In short, your snake was trying to swallow you. The only recommendation is strict isolation, dietary adjustment, and — preferably — to hand the animal over to a specialized facility. Today.”
His words struck like ice. In the evening, the girl sat on the edge of the bed and watched Safran slowly glide across the sheets. At one point, the snake curled up exactly like in that photo: a ring around a sleeping woman — only now the girl was not asleep.

Carefully, she lifted the snake, placed it back into the terrarium, locked it, and sat down on the floor beside it.
In the morning, she called the city reptile center. Safran was taken away during the day — placed in a spacious enclosure, with experienced caretakers and proper feeding.
